Community School Program
The “Community School” began in November 2007 and is specifically designed for the children who have dropped out of government schools. The school started off with 15 students but this number has been growing strongly over the past two years as students and parents’ told their friends and relatives. Within the first 6 months of operation the number of students more than doubled to 34 and reached 60 in 2009. In fact the program has been so popular in the region that some children currently in government schools have wanted to drop out just to join the Community School. Of course this is not allowed as we strongly encourage children to stay in school. Incentives of our community school include free private group tutorial lessons and summer activities.
